It’s springtime, and summer is just around the corner. Soon families will be enjoying afternoons and evenings spent poolside. If you haven’t started preparing for pool season, now is a great time to start. Once the time comes to hit the pool, it helps to be ready so you can make the most of it. We’ve put together a list of ten things you can do to ensure you’re prepared for a great pool season.
1. Trick Out Your Pool Space
Have you been thinking about adding an outdoor kitchen or fire pit? Don’t wait until summer to decide and do the installation. You don’t want to disrupt your pool space when it’s full on pool season.
2. Stock Up On Fun Pool Floats
Back in the day, pool floats used to be an inflated tire tube or a rectangular lounge float. These days, you can find nearly any pool float imaginable. There are pool floats with shade, pool floats with drink holders and even pool floats in fun shapes like islands with palm trees, swans and pirate ships. Why have boring pool floats when you can have awesome ones?
3. Plan Your Landscaping
Maybe you haven’t put much thought into your landscaping in the past. This year, if you start now, you can start planning a re-vamp to your landscaping. Start researching trees, plants, rocks and other outdoor elements so that you can communicate to your landscape company what you are looking for.
4. Change Out Your Cushions and Pillows
Are the cushions and pillows on your lounge chairs starting to look worn? Or would you like to have updated colours or patterns that are “in” this season? Changing out cushions and pillows is an easy and relatively inexpensive way to update your pool space. You can even have sets that fit different themes for pool parties.
5. Improve Your Lighting
Now is the time to start thinking about, and ordering, any lighting elements. Lighting can truly set the tone in your pool space and create ambience. There’s a myriad of unique and creative lighting elements you can add, or if on a budget, you can consider strings of bulbs or rice paper lanterns.
6. Plan for Pool Parties
Summer may not be here just yet, but it’s not to soon to start planning an epic pool party. You can start thinking about themes, contacting caterers and choosing your invites. Planning a pool party is nearly as fun as the party itself!
7. Update Your Pool Side Wardrobe
Do you have an inner fashionista? If so, choosing the perfect swimwear and sandals can be a fun endeavour.
8. Add a New Pool Feature
Have you desired a water feature but not yet made the commitment to have one installed? Leisure Pools offers a broad range of water features that provide a stunning element to your pool and serene sound of cascading water.
9. Install Entertainment
A television or sound system can provide additional entertainment that you, and your guests will enjoy. While it’s still cool outside, start planning your installation!
10. Find New Reading Material
Pool side reading is relaxing and enjoyable. Instead of waiting until summer to decide what to read, start now looking at lists and doing your research.
If you don’t yet own a pool, you can add that to your list of preparing for pool season. Now is a great time to start the pool ownership process!
